People with diabetes have the same nutritional needs as anyone else. Nutrition, along with exercise and medications (insulin or oral diabetes medications), is important for good diabetes control. Keeping your blood-sugar level as close to normal (non-diabetic level) as possibleand eating healthy foods in the right amounts and keeping weight under control help in diabetes management.
Whether you've just been diagnosed as a diabetic or need a refresher,
our Diabetes Self-Management Education Program (DSMEP) can help
you understand not only the essentials, but also what you need
to do every day in order to stay healthy. Our Diabetes Management
Team of medical professionals includes a registered dietitian,
registered nurse, certified diabetes educator, pharmacist, exercise
physiologist, and medical social worker. We work closely with
your doctor to ensure you are on the right road to managing
your diabetes. The Diabetes Self-Management Program has been
awarded Recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA)
