We are extremely proud of our professional staff comprised of highly educated medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, and phlebotomists/lab assistants.

Medical Technologists perform a full range of laboratory tests and operate computers, precision instruments and other complex electronic equipment. Certified medical technologists hold a bachelor's degree, have completed an accredited training program or have equivalent experience, and have passed national certification examinations.

Medical Laboratory Technicians perform routine lab tests in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology and urinalysis under supervision of a qualified medical technologist. A certified medical laboratory technician holds a high school diploma and an associate degree, has completed an accredited medical laboratory technology program, and has passed a national certification exam.

Phlebotomist/lab assistants collect and process specimens to be analyzed in the lab, utilize computers and serve as client service representatives. Certified phlebotomists hold a high school diploma, have completed a phlebotomy-training program or have equivalent experience and have passed a national certification exam. DeKalb Memorial Hospital Lab will consider training qualified applicants.
