DEKALB COUNTY COMMUNITY MEMORIAL
HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
In 1960, community leaders recognized the need to build a hospital that could meet the needs of DeKalb County and the surrounding area into the 21st Century. They formed the DeKalb County Community Memorial Hospital Foundation for "the acquisition, construction, establishment, and operation of a community memorial hospital for DeKalb County."
The community responded overwhelmingly to this call and actually over-subscribed the construction costs for DeKalb Memorial Hospital. The remaining funds were retained by the Foundation and added to over the years to continue its mission of helping to meet the health needs of the area.
The Foundation supports this important work through fundraising initiatives with businesses, other foundations, and individuals who desire to include the Hospital in their charitable giving or estate plans. Funds raised by the Foundation have helped expand DeKalb Memorial Hospital, purchase equipment, recruit physicians, and provide scholarship assistance in the medical field.
DeKalb County Community Memorial Hospital Foundation is a separate not-for-profit corporation with tax exempt status under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3. It is administered by a local volunteer Board of Directors from throughout the county.
DeKalb County Community Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to provide the opportunity for you to make a difference in the health and lives of our citizens.
