Experience our private LDRP suites! Our Maternity Care Unit features a family-centered waiting area and very spacious private LDRP (Labor Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum) suites allowing mom to go through labor, delivery, and recovery — all in one comfortable room, each suite is equipped with DVD player! Included in our 20,000 square foot unit is an educational conference room for prenatal and postnatal individual and family classes.
Get informed! Healthy Expectations is a free program designed to help ensure the development of healthy babies by providing information for the prevention of birth defects. Throughout the entire pregnancy, participants receive free prenatal vitamins, as well as physician referrals if needed.
Start smart with our infant care experts! Informative Prenatal Classes assist new mothers and their families in the preparation for the changes they will experience. Our infant care experts develop and instruct classes about nutrition, labor/delivery, newborn care, first-year growth and development, newborn safety and much more. Classes fill up quickly and we suggest you complete them before you reach 38 weeks. There is a $20.00 fee with need based financial assistance available to those who qualify, please call to arrange. Registration forms are available online or also from the department.

When you're ready to leave the Maternity Care Unit, you will be presented with a special gift bag filled with personal care items plus a wealth of information and practical advice on childcare. As a free service to our community, DeKalb Memorial Hospital is proud to be one of only a few nationally recognized child safety seat fitting stations in Northeast Indiana to offer child safety seat inspections by certified technicians, call for an appointment.
At DeKalb Memorial Hospital, we encourage all patients to register online. Online registration is a convenience for you and the hospital alike — paperwork can be prepared before a patient's anticipated arrival, saving valuable waiting time and allowing staff to expedite the check-in process. This is especially critical for new moms when delivery is just around the corner!
New enhancements to the hospital Web site have made registration even easier. Now, patients can register online for a scheduled test or procedure by filling out an online form, available at www.dekalbmemorial.com. The registration page is hosted on a secure server to ensure the privacy of DeKalb Memorial Hospital's patients. The personal information provided is encrypted, and strong security measures are employed to protect and prevent the loss of patient information.
If hospital patrons would still prefer not to submit their information via the Internet, the registration form can be printed out and faxed to 260.925.8350, or brought to the hospital.
Patients will still be required to sign consent forms, present orders from their physician, and confirm information upon arrival for check-in.
