Radiology Technologists operate x-ray and other equipment to produce x-ray films and other images that are used in the diagnosis and management of disease or injury.

DeKalb Memorial Hospital has many opportunities for a certified technologists, including:
  • Radiologic Technologist
  • Ultrasound Tech
  • Mammography Tech
  • CT Technologist
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Radiography programs require, at a minimum, a high school diploma or the equivalent. High school courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology are helpful. The formal programs includes both classroom and clinical instruction in anatomy and physiology, patient care procedures, radiation physics, radiation protection, principles of imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, medical ethics, and pathology.

Radiology professionals must be a graduate of a formal training program accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians and hold a license from the Indiana State Board of Health.
