Speech Therapy Speech therapists evaluate, treat and provide management services to people of all ages with communication disorders, including speech, language, voice, fluency and literacy difficulties or people who have physical problems with eating or swallowing.
To become certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), you must have a master's degree, pass the national examination administered by the Educational Testing Services, and successfully complete a clinical fellowship.
