The benefits of a healthier lifestyle are numerous, profound, and indisputable and include: increased life expectancy, decreased risk of chronic diseases, increased energy levels, and improved body composition. Achieving a healthy lifestyle requires physical activity, proper nutrition, stress management, and positive thinking. DeKalb Memorial Hospital offers many fee based group and individual wellness programs designed to promote healthy lifestyles in the community.

Community Wellness Services
We offer many different programs at varied fitness levels for all ages. The one thing they have in common is that they’re all geared toward preventing illnesses and health issues that may arise throughout your lifetime. Many of the small-group sessions available through the hospital’s curriculum will help northeast Indiana residents improve their general wellness. Community wellness services include:
  • Fitness Classes (AM Energize, PM Power, Boot Camp, Lunch Crunch, Pilates, Strength Training, Tai Chi, Yoga)

Corporate Wellness Services
The main goal of most employee or worksite wellness programs is to improve the health status and productivity of a particular working population and consequently to reduce health-related costs. This objective is met by helping to change lifestyle and behavioral choices of individuals in the work group. By changing the behaviors associated with modifiable risk factors, the chance of illness and/or injury is reduced for the individuals, and as more individuals change their behavior, the risk factors for the organization as a whole are reduced. DeKalb Memorial Hospital Wellness Services has developed an effective and affordable assessment tool for those who want a "snapshot" of their current health risk status. This simple procedure involves 3 easy steps:
  • Blood sample
  • Biometric Screening
  • Lifestyle questionaire
Commit To Be Fit
DeKalb Memorial Hospital's Commit To Be Fit program was one of the first grass roots wellness initiatives launched in Indiana. Recognized and endorsed by the Governor and state health officials, it has since served as a model for many area wellness programs.
